Lot's Wife Pillar, Mount Sodom

The Zohar valley is identified by scholars as the Edom Way mentioned in 2 Kings 3. It hosts the ruins of a fortress and an observation tower.
Mount Sodom is made of 80% salt and is home to the longest single running salt cave in the world.
Lot's Wife Pillar is a salt pillar standing on top of Mount Sodom.

The Zohar valley is identified by scholars as the Edom Way mentioned in 2 Kings 3. It hosts the ruins of a fortress and an observation tower.
In the last day of our Dead Sea trip We decided to get in the car and explore the south of the Dead Sea region No matter where you turn here You’ll find something of biblical and historical significance There’s just endless routes and paths and little roads into the mountains And monuments and structures in the mountains

Pool reservations New pools that are formed because the Dead Sea drying out and.. It’s incredible There’s so much to do here This is so cool In this episode Well explore the valley of the Zohar brook Which is mentioned in the Bible as the way of Edom And well explore the ancient Roman fortress That stands on top of a marl-stone hill Were in a very interesting location In the middle of this valley Surrounded by just limestone, rock There’s a fortress Then we’ll continue south to Mt Sodom Which has a peculiar looking pillar Named after Lots wife that Lots wife?

And underneath it a cave Which some believe to be the place where Lot dwelt with his daughters So join us on an adventure in this marvelous and unique place on earth In the south of the Dead Sea There is a place called Zohar Brook It is not to be confused with Zoar The place to which Lot escaped from Sodom and Gomorra Even though these two sound similar in English In Hebrew language they’re entirely different words The entrance to this valley is somewhat hard to spot It’s a little turn from the main road 90 Which takes you on a dirt road.

And then a few yards later It leads you to a scenic drive By the edge of a cliff In between beautiful lime stone and marl stone mountains This road is believed to be the way of Edom Mentioned in II Kings 3 When the king of Israel Judah And Edom Went to fight the Moabites And to get to Moab They took this way But after seven days they ran out of water And after Elishas prayer God provided an abundance of water To this valley Even though There was no rain.

So scholars believe that this location Fits the biblical story Because it rains a far off in the mountains So you cannot hear the rain But then the rain water does not get observed into the ground But rather drains down the mountains Into this valley Filling The cisterns and the water dams That they excavated here A few years back archeologists started digging and looking into The history behind this place What they were surprised to find There’s very little information left Behind who lived here Who were the people
Why this fortress was built And what was this road So few different theories started to be developed
One of them is that this fortress is built

Mount Sodom is made of 80% salt and is home to the longest single running salt cave in the world. Lot's Wife Pillar is a salt pillar standing on top of Mount Sodom.
In a very strategically place in the Centre of the Edom way This way is believed to later become the trade route During the Roman-Byzantine Or the Crusader- Mamluk periods To carry the salt produced in the Dead Sea Into the heart of the land And historians speculate That this fortress Served to protect the road And perhaps even collect taxes on the salt trade There is even a lookout tower Carved out of the bedrock Located in front of the fortress It would be a great place for soldiers to observe The incoming traffic But all these are theories which have not much archeological support First survey dated this fortress to the Roman time While a later conducted survey placed it into the Crusader period
The lack of archeological evidence to build a proper storyline.

Can be contributed to the easily crumbling marl-stone Look at this What looks like once used to be steps Is now.. Look at this It’s all looks like just one Slide It crumbles so easily You don't want to attempt to climb this Eshet Lot (Hebrew- Lots wife) Lots wife Mitzpe (Hebrew- Look out) Look.. Look.. Wow.. Look at that Look at that rock There are two pillars for Lots wife One in Jordan and one in Israel The Jordanian pillar has a much better shape of a human And an interesting cave with archeological findings from the Iron Age While the Israeli pillar looks more like giant rock With a salt cave underneath It would make no sense to figure out which one is the real pillar.

Because according to the book of Genesis The pillar shouldn’t even be above the cave at all But rather in the plain That’s Lots wife?

So what we see here today Is just a reminder of the story rather than an artifact I don’t know It looks like Lots wife was.. Maybe a relative of like the.. Nephilim, Goliath or the Anakin or.. I don’t know
But the interesting part about this place is the actual mountain Rather than the pillar itself This mountain is called Mt Sodom And if you examine it with your eyes You’ll notice that there are no plants or vegetation on it That is because Mt Sodom is made of 80% salt It is one giant mountain of salt
And since salt dissolved much faster than limestone This mountain is home to the longest single natural salt cave In the world It is nearly 2.5 miles long And until recently It was open to the public.

But today it had been closed Due to the danger of falling salt rocks The cave of Lot and his daughters where they hid After they left Zoar Zoar is south of Dead Sea And it says from there they left and went to dwell in the caves So it’s very much possible they dwelt in caves like these over here You know when we read about it And you read that they Lived in a..

They went up to the mountains and in a cave there In my.. In my head, mountains are.. You know Those green Where you have a lot of trees and everything But the mountains in this area I.. I never thought about it like that And it must not been easy Especially in the heat and all that But there are plenty of caves in those mountains I mean plenty It’s amazing.. it’s amazing.

Yeah and there are sources of water You gotta know where they are But if you don’t, you’ll die out here
Cause that sea is so salty You can’t drink it No there’s no way You can do nothing with it So to get fresh water you gotta know where You gotta know where those reservoirs are Where the streams are Otherwise you die in here

This is nice a little bit of shade You know after swimming in the Dead Sea Like the oily  part Because its oily and salty and everything And then you stand in the sun and it feels somebody is frying you Deep fried And you don’t need like seasoning because we have salt.

Most Dangerous Ways To School | NICARAGUA

Every morning, the three sisters Julia, Yulissa and Kenya climb into their dugout in order to row to school. They live on the east coast of Nicaragua, one of the world’s poorest countries, and the youngest of them has just turned five; the oldest is nine. They row across the Rio Escondido. Not only is it one of the largest rivers in the country, it is simultaneously one of the most dangerous routes to school. While they have to watch out for snakes lurking in the trees over the river, the three sisters also struggle against the current and must ensure the dugout does not fill up with water - because it has multiples holes and could sink at any minute. Other classmates do not necessarily have it easier, because they live far from the river, and their journey to school takes them through the deep jungle. One of these classmates is 11-year-old Greyven. His daily trip di lui takes him through the so-called 'snake field', in which coral snakes and the infamous boa constrictor resid

exactly is the goop inside a lava lamp

Couple of tips.  For color, use  aniline dye.  I think it can be had for use as candle colorant.  probably find it on sleazebay.  You want a dye that mixes with the paraffin and not a pigment which consists of solid particles suspended in oil.  Second, to adjust the specific gravity, look into gauge fluid.   as in manometer fluid.  It is available in specific gravities from about 0.5 to 4.3.  These are chlorinated hydrocarbons but since they don't evaporate (if they did, they'd mess up the calibration of the manometer), there is no chemophobia concern.  The 4.3 stuff is really weird.  It has a viscosity similar to water but is so heavy that one might think there is mercury in the bottle. Hello and welcome to No Effort November, a series of videos for the month of November in which it is becoming increasingly obvious the title is a misnomer. Today’s video is about lava lamps! Yes, those things that hang out in the set unceremoniously. Just doing’ their globular thing. Speaking

A Scary Truth Behind the Original Bible Story

In this Book, Paul documents the links within the Sumerian creation account: The word Annunaki, he explains, means “Those who came from the heavens to Earth,” a phrase that made clear their extraterrestrial origins. Many of the world’s oldest mythologies claim that governance over human society began with dominance over human beings being established by superior beings or “gods.” And then the job of ruler ship gets handed over at a later stage to human governors or Kings .. The Bible originated from the ancient Sumerian text. Text found with the same story. Pre-dating the Biblical accounts by thousands of years. Documenting Ancient Aliens. The Sumerian story begins with the rulers coming down from the heavens. And the glyph for these rulers is a symbol pointing to the sky! The Annunaki were from the heavens. They were sky people! - WHY ARE WE HERE? A Scary Truth Behind the Original Bible Story | Full Documentary I’ve been a preacher for more than 30 years, I’ve studied and taught thro

1453 - Ottoman Wars DOCUMENTARY

The Eastern Roman Empire was under constant Ottoman pressure ever since the new conquerors appeared in the Anatolia. Although the Ottomans tried to take Constantinople on a number of occasions, they had to lift the siege of the city due to the Crusades of Varna and Nicopolis, the Timurid Invasion and the battle of Ankara, and the Interregnum period that happened after their Sultan Bayezid was taken hostage by Timur. However, after the victories at the battles of Varna (1444) and 2nd Kosovo (1448) against the crusaders of Wladyslaw III and John Hunyadi , the road to Constantinople was open and the new sultan Mehmed II set his sight on the city of the Roman emperors ... The Ottoman Empire attempted to besiege Constantinople and end the Byzantine Empire on a half-dozen occasions. But these sieges were interrupted by the Crusades, civil wars, rebellions and the invasion of Timor. However by the middle of the 15th century, the Ottomans consolidated their territory and finally entered a per
